Announcing our Autumn 2022 Production

This autumn TADS will be performing “The Ladykillers”, a hilarious black comedy based on the 1955 Ealing film of the same name.

When Mrs. Wilberforce puts a sign in her newsagent’s window advertising “A Room to Let”, she’s delighted when the mysterious Professor Marcus proclaims it perfect for rehearsing his unorthodox string quintet. She soon discovers that she is not making tea for a motley band of musicians, but harbouring a hardened gang of criminals and conmen planning the great Kings Cross Train Robbery!

Graham Linehan (Father Ted, The IT Crowd) has adapted this much-loved film for the stage, his combination of comic timing, subtle puns and fast paced action has kept us laughing all the way through rehearsals and we are sure this will be one of our best productions yet!

Abigail’s Party

After a long break TADS are back! For their first show since 2019 they’ll be travelling back to the 1970s and a time of cheese and pineapple on sticks, paisley prints, and Demis Roussos.

Suburban socialite Beverly and her husband Laurence are hosting a drinks party, despite Laurence arriving home late from work. They have invited their new neighbors, married couple Tony and Angela, along with their recently divorced next door neighbor Susan, who has been banished from her home as her teenage daughter Abigail is throwing her first party.

As the drinks flow, tensions rise. Beverly flirts with Tony, while Laurence sulks on the sofa. Sniping, bickering, and drunken dancing ensue, until the evening comes to a sudden unexpected close.

Performances will be from Wednesday 11th to Saturday 14th of...

TADS are Back!

It has been two years since TADS were last able to put on a play. We stopped rehearsals in March 2020 and since then have sat and wondered when we might be able to perform again, and who might be there to watch us.

It has been a long wait, but TADS are back.

The last two years has sadly taken a toll on our membership, so whilst we reinvigorate the society and prepare for a full TADS production,  we are excited to bring you an interactive Murder Mystery Evening at Thrapston Plaza on November 20th 2021. Tickets are £10 and this will include a fish & chip supper. See this page for details.

Please come along and support us, and enjoy being back in our company.

Government willing, TADS will be back in the Spring to entertain you, so watch this space.

TADS Update

A year ago this month TADS lost one of our long standing members, and one of our biggest personalities, Grahame Nightingale, to cancer.

When he passed we promised that we would send him off in true TADS style. Unfortunately, the continuation of Covid-19 lockdowns have meant that currently the society is still not up and running. We are meeting next month to discuss what we do moving forward, and when we may be able to bring amateur theatre to Thrapston once more.

Over the last few months we have been meeting on Zoom to read extracts of some of the plays we remember Grahame most fondly for, and are still planning to mark his passing in some way once we can do so face-to-face with you, our wonderful audience.

Grahame and Dinahs chosen charity was Cynthia Spencer Hospice, if you wish to make...
