September Update

Hey folks, it’s been a while since our last update, so here’s a bit of a catch-up:

NODA Awards

On 22nd June 2025 TADS attended it’s first NODA East Midlands AGM and Award Ceremony since becoming NODA members.

One of the benefits of becoming NODA members is that we have a district representative come and review our shows, and if they see something that they feel is worthy of it, will put forward people or productions to receive NODA awards.

As such, we were hugely honoured to be attending in the capacity of NODA award nominees, with two of our group members being nominated for awards.

Simon Smart was nominated for Regional Poster of the Year Award for The Ghost Train poster, and Sarah Smart (nee Jones) was nominated for an Outstanding Individual Performance Award for the role of J...

Thrapston Amateur Dramatic Society needs you!

Thrapston Amateur Dramatic Society are in rehearsals for their Spring Production, a comedy farce called Rumours!

We have had a part that has come available and we are looking for an actor who is available from the beginning of April to fill this role.

We are looking for a man or woman, any age from age 18 upwards, to play the part of a police officer. This character joins the action in the second half of act 2, and whilst there are not that many lines to learn there are a couple of wordy bits where the officer interrogates the rest of the cast!

Our rehearsal days are Wednesday and Friday 7.30-9.30pm and the performance is the week of 14th – 17th May 2025. We would also need the actor to be available for our technical dress rehearsal on Sunday 11th May.

We are a fun, friendly group who ...

Spring 2025 Production Announcement – Rumours!

Following a run of Dramas (and many train-themed plays!), this spring TADS are returning to comedy with Rumours, a hilarious farce by Neil Simon.

Charley, a prominent Government official, is found with a superficial bullet wound and his wife missing. Four couples invited to his home for a party try to hide what they think is a scandal from each other, until everyone is caught up in a web of rumour and misunderstanding.

This play originally premiered on Broadway at the Broadhurst Theatre in November 1988 and ran for two years. The British version that TADS will be performing premiered in August 1990 at the Chichester Festival Theatre.

Performance dates will be from Wednesday 14th to Saturday 17th May 2025. Tickets are available now from https://tadsthrapston.org.uk/tickets or on 07543 3212...

Prudence Goss – In Memoriam

It is with great sadness that we must report the passing of our President and longest serving member, Prudence Goss. Pru had been a constant in TADS for longer than any of us can remember, joining the society as a young actress and continuing to perform up to her last appearance on stage in 2018.

Anyone who met or worked with Prue will have fond memories of her skill and keen sense of humor. The tales of her performances and exploits will no doubt continue to be recounted for many many years to come.

In the coming weeks TADS will be compiling a tribute to Prue and her long history with us, which will be published in the programme in our upcoming production, as well as on our website. If anyone has any memories they would like to share then please get in touch.
