And Then There Were None

Ticket sales are now open for Thrapston Amateur Dramatic Societies’ next production of “And Then There Were None” by Agatha Christie. The show is directed by Lisa Punter and will be performed at the Thrapston Plaza from Wednesday 10th – Saturday 13th May 2017. Doors open at 7pm, performance starts at 7:30pm.

Ten strangers, apparently with little in common, are lured to an island mansion off the coast of Devon by the mysterious U.N.Owen. Over dinner a record begins to play, and the voice of an unseen host accuses each person of hiding a guilty secret. That evening, one of the guests is found dead. The tension escalates as the survivors realise that a killer is not only among them but is preparing to strike again… and again…

Spring production changes!

Unfortunately due to an extended run in the West end, the license for “An Inspector Calls” is not going to be available in time for the spring production. The auditions originally scheduled for January 6th will instead be replaced with a script read through of the proposed replacement, “And Then There Were None” by Agatha Christie. Assuming the play is well received and Lisa is comfortable with directing it, then auditions will be rescheduled for later in the month.

Announcing next year’s productions

Our spring 2017 production will be “An Inspector Calls”, a period drama by J.B. Priestley. Performance dates are Wednesday 10th to Saturday 13th May, audition dates will be announced in due course via our website, Facebook page and mailing list.

In the autumn we will be returning to one of our more popular playwrights, Alan Ayckbourn, to perform “Confusions” – a series of five interconnected one-act comedies. This show is currently scheduled to run from Wednesday November 15th to Saturday November 18th.

Party Piece

Ticket sales are now open for Thrapston Amateur Dramatic Societies’ next production of “Party Piece”; a comedy by Richard Harris. The show is directed by Sarah Jones and will be performed at the Thrapston Plaza from Wednesday 13th – Saturday 16th April 2016. Doors open at 7pm, performance starts at 7:45pm.

Set in the back gardens of feuding neighbours, this is a very funny and fast paced comedy. It is the night of Michael and Roma’s fancy dress house-warming party. The evening looks set to be a lively one until a string of hilarious disasters strike, including a distinct lack of guests, a burning garden shed, a marauding Zimmer frame and the prospect of an irate husband on the prowl.

Brassed Off

Ticket sales are now open for Thrapston Amateur Dramatic Societies’ next production of “Brassed Off”; Adapted by Paul Allen, based on the screenplay by Mark Herman from the smash hit film. The show is directed by Martin Picken and will be performed at the Thrapston Plaza from Wednesday 11th – Saturday 14th November 2015. Doors open at 7pm, performance starts at 7:45pm.

It is 1992, Grimley Colliery faces the threat of closure and the future of the brass band seems uncertain. With the miners torn between redundancy packages and the picket lines, band-leader Danny’s hopes of winning the national brass band competition seem like a distant dream. But the arrival of flugelhorn-playing Gloria brings hope, romance and controversy to the Yorkshire brass band on the brink of collapse.
