Auditions for this years autumn play, ‘Write About What You Know’, will be held on Friday June 14th, 7.30 pm at the Thrapston Plaza.
Here’s a list of the characters:
Annabel Newstead | Late 30’s / Early 40’s. Brian’s devoted “homely” wife in Act 1 but not so in Act 2 when she is very, very drunk. |
Liz Marshall | Mid 30’s. A feminist who sees herself as a cut above the rest, has no sense of humour. Quite a spiky character. |
Colin Harbottle | 50 – 60. A bluff Northerner, a bit of a male chauvanist. The character works well with a Northern accent. Writes unintentionally hilarious westerns. |
Peter Saltern | Late 20’s / Early 30’s. “a socially aware and environmentally concerned writer”, who writes terrible poetry! |
Louise Smith | Late 20’s / Early 30’s. A mousy librarian who experiences a transformation – think Sandra D! |
Stanley Ferris | Over 60. His sci-fi efforts bring the house down (and he goes to the loo a lot). |
Barbara Poklington | Over 60. Poor Barbara often gets the wrong end of the stick but has a strange ability to remember the names and story lines of Stan’s alien characters. Obsessed with jam. |
Brian Newstead | Late 30’s / Early 40’s. Annabel’s cheating husband. Doesn’t appear in Act 1 as he is away on ‘business’. Turns up in Act 2 and is accosted by Annabel, with a loaded gun. But it turns out all right in the end! |
